Why is the lifespan of Brahma also considered insignificant although he lives for a longer span?

Question: Why is the lifespan of Brahma also considered insignificant although he lives for a longer span?

Date: 22-Mar-2017

Answer by Amarendra Dasa:

In comparison to 100 rupees, 1 paisa is nothing.
In comparison to 10000000 rupees, 100 paisa is nothing.
Similarly in comparison to our life of 60 years, Brahma’s 311 Trillion 40 Billion years is immortality but in comparison to Eternity of time with no end, even Brahma’s life is nothing!

Why doesn’t Krishna give moksha to everyone?

Question: Why doesn’t Krishna give moksha to everyone?

Date: 17-Feb-2017

Answer by Amarendra Dasa:
Why doesn’t IIT give PHD to everyone? Although IIT is ready to give, one must also qualify. IIT books are available to everyone. Teaching, classes, online tests, everything is there and available but we need to study. Similarly Guru is there, shastras are there, temples are there for everyone. Most importantly Krsna is personally guiding as paramatma and the Holy Name. Just like we have regular tests conducted before IIT main exams, we face regular tests in life too in the form of circumstances. But we need to study and practice and qualify. Then IIT mains is analogous to death. Just like if we perform well we get qualified for IIT, if we remember the Lord at the time of death we get liberated.

What can I pray to Lord Shiva?

Question: What can I pray to Lord Shiva?

Date: 15-Jan-2017

Answer by Amarendra Dasa:

Vrndāvanāvani pate Jay Soma Soma
Maule sanandana sanātana nāradeđya
Preetim prayaccha nirupādi namo namaste
Gopishvara Vraja Vilāsa Yugānghri padme

This is a Brahma samhita melody composed by Vishwanath Chakravarthi Thakur in a book called Sankalpa Kalpadruma.

“O Gatekeeper of Vrndavana! O Soma, all glories to you! O you whose forehead is decorated with the moon, and who is worshipable by the sages headed by Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatana and Narada! O Gopisvara! Desiring that you bestow upon me prema for the lotus feet of Sri Sri Radha-Madhava, who perform joyous pastimes in Vrajadhama, I offer obeisances unto you time and again.”

You can chant this in all Shiva temples.

Is second initiation more important than first initiation?

Question: Is second initiation more important than first initiation?

Date: 28-Dec-2016

Answer by Amarendra Dasa:

It is other way round. With 1st initiation one gets Maha mantra. With 2nd initiation one gets mantra.

With 1st initiation one becomes Vaishnava. With 2nd initiation one becomes Brahmin (Vaishnava higher than Brahmin).

In the ultimate sense Kaam gayatri is needed. But for now a newly first initiated disciple should focus on Japa. When you chant 64 rounds for years, some sambandha with Krsna is established. Then kaam gayatri takes us ahead. Also 2nd initiation bija mantras act only when one is brahminical in nature (one has become free from ego, anger, lust and greed). Otherwise the bija mantras don’t act. It acts only when one is established in Sattva guna. With Japa, kirtana, seva and hearing hari katha, one elevates to sattva guna and then gayatri mantras transform.

Maha mantra is highest! We have to chant Mahamantra all the time till death and beyond. Harinam mahamantra is highest.

Enechi aushadhi maya Nashibaro lagi

Harinama mahamantra Lao tumi maagi

Bhakti Vinoda Thakur says, “Sri Gaura got this aushadhi medicine to destroy maya and gave us the gift of Harinama mahamantra”.

Which avatar of the Lord is more merciful?

Question: Which avatar of the Lord is more merciful?

Date: 27-12-2016

Answer by Amarendra Dasa:

Sri Gauranga is the most merciful.

Because Gaura is Radha-Govinda, so everything is there in Gaura Dhama. Barsana is also there and Nandagram also and Govardhan also. Yes, Vraja has Mayapur also.

Both are nondifferent in Tattwa and lila.

Krishna sometimes in separation from Radhika chants Radha Radha Radha Radha Radha Radha… and turns golden. This is Gaura rupa.

Shyamsunder with Radha Naam is Gaurasunder. Radharani on the contrary crying in separation from Krishna is basically Gauranga.

However, Vraja is Madhurya dhama and Navadwip is Audarya dhama. Audarya means Madhurya and Karuna Shakti.

In tattwa and potency and lila both are nondifferent but in Mercy factor, Navadwip is more merciful. Just like Gaura is more merciful than Krsna, Gaura Naam, Gaura Dhaam and Gaura Murti are more merciful than Krishna Naam, Krishna Dhaam and Krishna Murti.

Krishna is merciful but Radharani is more merciful and Sri Gauranga being Krishna plus Radhika is most merciful.

If we all are part of God then we all are brothers and sisters; then why do we get married?

Question: If we all are part of God then we all are brothers and sisters; then why do we get married?

Date: 23-Dec-2016

Answer by Amarendra Dasa:

This question is working on 2 domains. 1st half is on soul platform (which is reality) and 2nd half is on body platform (which is illusion).

So those who are self-realized remain celibate as Suka and Narada and 4 kumaras, they never slip to bodily designation. Hence for them the idea of marriage doesn’t even exist as they never come to the bodily sense of being ‘male’ and finding a ‘female’.

Now for conditioned souls-

There are two categories:

Those who are on the path of self-realization (practicing devotees) and those who are blindly in illusion (bodily designation platform).

For the practicing devotees also celibacy is advocated however if one feels bifurcated between spiritual knowledge in the head and material activities in reality then the sacred institution of marriage is applicable. Where one can use temporary bodily identification of eventually being elevated and freed from all material considerations.

Now there is one tattwa here, Jivas being Nitya Krsna Dāsa are dipped in prema. However, this prema by the cover of Maya’s Rajoguna gets flipped to Kāma.

Since Prema for Krsna is very deep intense and selfless, this gets pervertedly reflected as Kāma or lust which is seen as deep intense and selfish fire for satisfying one’s own body.

This fire if not checked, can cause havoc leading to many other anarthas plus social evils.

Hence to properly channelize it in the Lord’s service, in the reconversion back to Prema, it must be used for proper legitimate seminal discharge (leading to beget Krishna Conscious children in the Lord’s service).

This is how Marriage is sacred where even the reflected fire of lust is utilized to reflect back the original mood of Love for the Lord.

Finally, the last category of marriage for enjoyment is with no Atma tattwa (spiritual understanding). This marriage where the Lord is not the goal and where the senses are the goal is a disaster.

When Rupa Manjari appears as Rupa Goswami then what happens to the original duties and position of Rupa Manjari? Who fills that space in the original position? Is the same soul present at multiple places? Or is the original place void of that soul?

Question: When Rupa Manjari appears as Rupa Goswami then what happens to the original duties and position of Rupa Manjari? Who fills that space in the original position? Is the same soul present at multiple places? Or is the original place void of that soul?

Date: 20-Dec-2016

Answer by Amarendra Dasa:

Rupa Manjari when she comes as Rupa Goswami can see Radha Krishna in her meditation. While chanting Nama or seva whole Goloka is revealed. Hence externally through the body serving Gauranga as Rupa Goswami, the same personality, while bhajan, internally through samadhi serves the divine couple.
