Quote: The most important battles are not for winning any medal. The struggles within yourself, the invisible battles inside all of us, that’s what they are. These battles are between bad and good intuitions. Always try to win over bad intuitions.
Krsna conscious version of the quote:
Material world means constant battle. We have pollution everywhere, within and without. Environmentalists and scientists are very much concerned about external pollution and are taking different steps to protect our environment from this pollution. Research is done and survey results claim how pollution is affecting our life on daily basis. People are advised to take necessary responsible moves towards retarding or reducing this effect. However, if we cautiously analyze, more than external pollution, internal pollution is a greater concern! We may possibly clean up our environment externally with all our efforts, but if pollutants like abortion, Animal slaughtering, Violence against women, children and senior citizens, racism, hate crimes etc. etc. still breed, what have we gained??
Hence there is a greater need to internalize and focus on cleaning the pollution of the mind & heart through the process of spiritual practice. Technological advancement may lead to better external comfort but some peaceful spiritual habits can help us bring in a positive internal change, a broadened outlook, a loving mindset.
This balance of internal and external peace is the missing key to the lock of joy in the modern era.
